The sound game - walking tour for families

Can you hear it too? The city is full of sounds! Hendrik and Poes, the museum’s ghosts, take you on a tour of Ghent. During an active tour, you will guess, make, look for and draw sounds from daily life. Warm up your voice, loosen your muscles and complete all the challenges. Can you crack the code? At the end of the walking tour, you will receive a surprise!

S.M.A.K.

• The Studio: During the exhibition Painting After Painting, S.M.A.K. transforms Room 1 into the Atelier. Inspired by the medium of painting and the works of the 74 painters in the exhibition, visitors can get creative themselves during the museum's opening hours.
• Print your own painting in the Studio | Create your painting on a tablet and the watercolour robot will do the rest!

• Discovery tour with children | Looking at art with children is often wonderfully open-minded. In the exhibition Painting After Painting, children can discover the artworks through a treasure hunt.

• Not sure what to do at home? A delightful colouring book features 20 works from the exhibition transformed into colouring pages. Come and take a look in our bookshop.

Children's trail through 'The story of Ghent'

Feel free to touch! A fun children's trail that leads through every room in the museum. Children become merchants, craftspeople, architects or city trippers and participate in city life. They sell cloth, make coats of arms, face façades and work out routes.

Museum Dr. Guislain

A home of one's own | Writer Erwin Mortier returns to his former workplace after 30 years and once again delves into the depots of the Museum Dr. Guislain.

I'm here!? | On the occasion of its 50th anniversary last year, De Sleutel invited both clients and staff to portray their joint and individual efforts in dealing with addiction. The works were shown at the Ik ben er!? exhibition in PC Sint Amandus in Beernem. Museum Dr. Guislain delved into the exhibition and is now bringing together work by six artists.

Museum of Fine Arts (MSK)

• Stephan Vanfleteren. Transcripts of a Sea | With this exhibition, internationally renowned photographer Stephan Vanfleteren reveals for the first time the enchantment that has driven him to, and even into, the sea over the past five years.
• Audio Guide for Children | Discover the museum’s collection in a fun and surprising way with the free audio guide! The children’s listening tour (from age 6) is full of fascinating facts and invites you to experience the artworks up close and at your own pace.
